Parsons Behle & Latimer congratulates litigator Julianne P. Blanch, who has been awarded as “Lawyer of the Year” for the private sector by the Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. She will be honored alongside other award recipients on April 16 in Salt Lake City.
The Utah Chapter of the Federal Bar Association presents Distinguished Service Awards and the Brooke C. Wells Pro Bono Service Award annually at its awards dinner, which honors key figures in the Utah federal legal community, including lawyer of the year awards.
“Many past recipients of this award are lawyers whom I have tried to emulate, and it is thrilling to be honored in this way,” says Blanch.
The Federal Bar Association’s Utah Chapter is composed of federal judges and lawyers who practice in Utah federal courts. Chapter participation gives lawyers the opportunity to network with local attorneys and judges. The Federal Bar Association also provides programs on federal practice and the latest developments in the law.
Blanch, a shareholder in the firm’s Salt Lake City office, has gained widespread recognition as a top-tier litigator. She made the esteemed list of Lawdragon 500 Litigators and was recently recognized as one of the “Top Ten” lawyers in SuperLawyers Mountain States. She has been recognized in Chambers & Partners USA Guide for the past several years in the commercial litigation category.
Blanch has tried a broad range of cases in her 30 years of practice, including trusts and estates, product liability and bad faith insurance claims. More recently, her practice is concentrated on commercial litigation, fraud cases and catastrophic personal injury cases. Handling dozens of appeals on state and federal levels, she has argued before the Utah Court of Appeals, the Utah Supreme Court and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Additionally, she is a member of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, American Board of Trial Advocates, the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers, all of which are elite trial lawyer organizations.
