Parsons Behle & Latimer is seeking a Legal Operations Technology Specialist that can be housed in any city where our firm has an office, with a preference given to the Salt Lake City, Utah, office.

The ideal candidate will lead efforts to streamline workflows, implement legal technologies, and support data-driven decisions, delivering secure and efficient solutions that improve productivity, collaboration, and compliance across the firm.
This is a full-time, primarily in-office, non-exempt position, with hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will report directly to the firm’s Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Responsibilities and Requirements
Process & Workflow Optimization
- Design and refine workflows that improve efficiency across legal and business operations.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process automation using tools like Power Automate.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Research, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to fix and improve processes and workflows.
Technology & Systems Management
- Lead evaluation, implementation, and support of legal and business technology platforms.
- Partner with firm resources, end users, and vendors to ensure solutions meet firm needs and integrate effectively with existing systems including SharePoint Online, Azure, Entra ID, Expert Sierra, NetDocuments, etc.
- Assist with training and support to ensure successful adoption of technology solutions.
- Conduct ongoing evaluations of system performance and user effectiveness to ensure tools continue to meet evolving business and legal needs.
Data & Reporting
- Work with department managers to build and maintain Power BI dashboards to visualize firm performance, workload, and operational metrics.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems and reporting tools.
- Enable leadership to make informed decisions through actionable insights.
- Assist Human Resources with design and continuously improving the evaluation and reporting process.
- Assist the recruiting function with candidate interview and data collection and management.
Software Development & Integration
- Customize integrations between Microsoft 365 services and third-party platforms.
- Maintain documentation and version control for internal tools and automations.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional projects from concept to completion, including stakeholder alignment and rollout.
- Act as a liaison between IT, legal, and administrative teams to ensure technology solutions meet operational needs.
- Support change management during staffing, leadership, or system transitions.
- Support both legal and business professionals by capturing, categorizing, and sharing knowledge and expertise.
Compliance & Resource Oversight
- Ensure implementation of technology aligns with firm policies and confidentiality standards.
- Assist with budget planning and vendor management for legal technology initiatives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through process improvements and system optimization.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience might be substituted).
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Understanding of law firm technologies, including document management systems and workflow platforms.
- Proven experience in legal operations or supporting legal teams within a professional services environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across departments and leadership levels.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to evolving business needs.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on practical implementation and continuous improvement.
