Jason R. Mau is a member of Parsons’ litigation; real estate; environmental and natural resources; and employment and labor practices. Jason focuses his practice in both litigation and transactional law, primarily in real estate, commercial and business law and employment law, representing clients in federal and state courts.

With a diverse and robust practice, Jason represents a wide range of clients across several legal disciplines.
Litigation
Jason commonly litigates for clients in cases related to his extensive practice, including construction disputes, contract claims, foreclosures, boundary disputes, condemnation, business fraud, agency review actions, unlawful employment claims, property tax exemptions before U.S. District Courts and the State of Idaho and has appeared on several appeals before the Idaho Supreme Court. He is also experienced representing clients before federal and state agencies.
Real Estate
Jason represents buyers, sellers and lenders in large and small real estate transactions, and, when necessary, litigates for all clients to protect their real property interests. He also assists clients with land use and entitlement issues and represents clients before planning and zoning commissions. Clients include national banks and corporations, investors, co-operatives, contractors and developers, business owners and individuals.
Environmental & Natural Resources
Focusing mainly on clients’ property interests and mineral rights, Jason represents mining companies of all sizes. He has advised many companies on the vesting of mineral interests across the Mountain West and assists in larger mining financing transactions.
For 10 years prior to attending law school, Jason worked for a preeminent title insurance company in Southwest Colorado. His extensive experience with transactions and complex legal descriptions has provided him with a unique perspective for his natural resources and real estate practice, developing a specialized expertise with title review matters and mining claim title reports and opinions.
Employment & Labor
With deep experience representing Idaho’s employers, Jason regularly advises clients on wage and hour issues; protection against discrimination and retaliation claims; and leave policy and procedures. He also represents employers in employee claims at the administrative and court levels.
Community Deeply involved in giving back to his local community, Jason is active with the Idaho Volunteer Lawyers Program (IVLP), participating in the Veterans and Nonprofit/Business Startup Clinics sponsored by the IVLP. He currently serves as a member of the Quaker Hill Camp and Conference Board of Directors and has served on the YMCA’s Program Advisory Committee for the Y Healthy Living Center and the Idaho Nonprofit Center board of directors. Throughout his professional career, he has also had the great opportunity to work with the Salvation Army serving for years as the chairperson of the Boise Corps Advisory Board, overseeing various counseling and benevolence services and ministries.
