Justin Eckman represents clients in Idaho, Utah, and Montana in drafting wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents to provide asset protection, business succession, care of dependents with special needs, and peace of mind for families and businesses across the region. In addition to planning, Justin assists clients in resolving issues related to will contests, trust disputes, and guardianships and conservatorships. Justin's practice also focuses on medical malpractice defense for hospitals and other organizational providers as well as appealing family law decisions regarding custody or property divisions.
Prior to joining Parsons, Justin worked in the health insurance industry, where he helped patients and providers secure reimbursement for child and adolescent mental health services. Justin attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he graduated with a degree in international studies and completed an internship with the State Department in London, U.K.
Justin earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. While in law school, Justin served as a note and comment editor of the Utah Law Review; was a teaching assistant for legal writing; was a member of the moot court team; and a student director of the University of Utah’s pro bono clinic focused on debt and consumer bankruptcy.
